Dr. Zeinab Hasan
GENERAL DENTIST
Dr. Hasan graduated from Baghdad University in 1998 and went on to complete a Master’s in Pediatric Dentistry at Sagar University in 2005. In 2015, Dr. Hasan received her DDS in Canada. She is a member of the RCDSO, ODA, and the International Association of Dental Research.
Dr. Hasan focuses on General Dentistry and has a passion for restoring smiles. She is also a certified Invisalign provider. She understands how nerve-wracking dental appointments can be, so she does her best to reduce her patient’s anxiety and any pain associated with the procedure.
Aside from restoring her patient’s smiles, Dr. Hasan enjoys researching and teaching dentistry. In fact, she used to teach at the International Medical University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Dr. Hasan also enjoys giving back to her community by supporting Goodwill.
Outside of work, Dr. Hasan enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, and traveling.
Dr. Balsam Al-Jawad
GENERAL DENTIST
Dr. Balsam Al-Jawad graduated from Baghdad University in 1987. She is a member of the CDA and ODA. Dr. Al-jawad has also completed her Invisalign Fundamentals Certification.
Dr. Al-Jawad focuses on General Dentistry. She enjoys all aspects of dental care, from restoring her patient’s smiles to helping them achieve their dream smiles. She also gives back to her community by supporting the Salvation Army.
In her free time, Dr. Al-Jawad enjoys cooking, yoga, shopping, and socializing with her friends and family.
Dr. Zaid Abdal-Majid
GENERAL DENTIST
Dr. Zaid Abdal-Majid completed his studies at the University of Mosul in Iraq. He then went on to complete the equivalency process of the NDEB of Canada and his Invisalign Fundamentals Certification at an intermediate level. Dr. Abdal-Majid is also a member of the RCDSO and ODA.
While Dr. Abdal-Majid practices general dentistry, he is passionate about cosmetic, restorative, and laser dentistry.
Dr. Abdal-Majid is a father of five beautiful kids. Outside the office, he enjoys traveling and swimming.
Dr. Ali Al Safi
GENERAL DENTIST
Raised in Windsor, Ontario, Dr. Al Safi attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and acquired his Bachelor in Biological Sciences in 2010. His thirst for knowledge led him to travel to Melbourne, Australia and, in 2014, he gained his Doctorate in Dental Surgery. Dr. Al Safi has been restoring smiles and finds passion in various phases of surgical and aesthetic procedures.

When the insurance company didn't cover the service fee because it was over the coverage limit, the management did not explain that before receiving the service, and they provided the patient's name covered under my insurance to a collection agency to collect $251.75 despite the fact the insurance coverage income for this clinic from my family members is thousands of dollars. Forget a good relationship with the dentists.I have the right to know the service cost before receiving the service. If the receptionist explained that before receiving the service, we would have postponed the treatment.This is the main point!Also, I expected some tolerance in case of misunderstanding, so the long relationship would remain permanently.

Was not pleased with the service i got booked an appointment with them i also confirmed the appointment cleared my schedule for the morning to get my teeth clean only to show up and them telling me my appointment is cancelled ,showed them my confirmation message and was told they cannot do anything but give me another spot in the evening as if im just sitting around not having anything else to do with my time im a busy person. Really disappointed with my experience so i did not get my teeth cleaned because of this screw up

Residing in the area now decided to give this place a try as they had a new patient promotion going on - cleaning & xray & a free electric toothbrush for $200.Once I booked online they were very on top of reminders for my appt (text & email) which I appreciate as a forgetful person. My hygienist was fantastic, Dana, super professional and lovely. Thorough, courteous and incredibly kind. Even the dentist who came in to over see everything after the hygienist had finished was wonderful.Great experience, staff were all lovely and facilities were larger than I expected, clean and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

It’s frustrating getting surprise bills. I always ask before anything is done. And I covered. Because I can’t afford unexpected bills. Told I’m covered to end up paying $117. Being laid off right now I can’t afford these. I only get a certain amount a month and that has to pay myBills which I barely can with how little it is

My appointment was for 9:30 and they had me in just bout 5 after that! Usually you’d be waiting a half hour or more AFTER your appointment but they had me in and out in a jiffy VERY nice and respectful they actually listen to your concerns and do something about it! I went to a different one 2 years ago for basically the same problem and NOTHING! Come here first time and they are doing something would definitely recommend especially for people on Ontario works! Very happy with my experience with this dentist ❤️

I am extremely disappointed in Dr. Rana’s lack of professionalism! I was recommended to this establishment back in May and booked an appt. My first appt was supposed to be May 19th which happened to be the long weekend. So instead of making plans with my kids or friends, I got a babysitter and dropped off my daughter only to be called on my way to their office 30 mins before my appt time and was notified that Dr Rana had a “medical emergency and won’t be in”. Ok fair, things come up - no problem, we rescheduled for the next week which went off without a hitch. I have quite a bit of work which needed to be done so I scheduled another appt which happened to fall on the Aug civic holiday weekend. Same thing, only this time I got a call a day before saying Dr Rana would not be in because she is sick and could we reschedule. We made a new appt and again it went off without a hitch. Time to book my last appt which is for today…. Another long weekend that I didn’t make any plans and surprise, surprise…. Dr Rana is “sick and won’t be coming in and we need to reschedule.” Interestingly enough, I got a call from their office on Thursday saying they had a cancellation and did I want to “bump up my appt”. I informed them I work during the week and can only do weekend appts at which point we confirmed for today. After getting off the phone, I already had a suspicion that today would be cancelled. This morning I get a text confirming and notice that if I need to cancel within 48hrs that there is a $75 fee. What a joke that is especially when an hour and a half later, they send me another text cancelling my appt with 45 mins of my appt time! So by my calculation, that’s 3 appts that you’ve cancelled on me within 24hrs… are you going to send me $225 for wasting my time? I understand that everyone wants to enjoy their long weekend, myself included!! So maybe you should make it a common practice to not book patients on long weekends so Dr Rana doesn’t have to fake sick and I don’t have to be inconvenienced! Calling in sick every long weekend is considered a pattern of behaviour and if you worked at my job, you’d be written up for attendance. Do better.

We moved to the east end so I tried this place. I wouldn’t recommend it for a few reasons. First of all, I have always been told my teeth are in great shape, and this hygienist and doctor said the same, yet they tried to tell me I should be coming every 4 months rather than every 6. When I said I’m not covered and why would I need to come 3 times a year, they quickly said twice is fine. Next, I’ve gone to the dentist twice a year my entire life. No dentist has ever had a concern about my bite. This dentist told me my bite goes out too far which is a major concern and I need to come back ASAP. Again, I’ve never once been told this and honestly don’t think it’s a concern. I’ve had really good dentists in the past, and the one dental concern all dentists have had, this one never even mentioned. I think if you have benefits they try to take advantage of you. This is my opinion, and I could be wrong, but I did not get a good feel for this place at all. They just seemed kind of scam like and wanting to take advantage. Lastly, it’s not a very nice place inside. You don’t really have any privacy with open work spaces, and the chair I was on had a huge rip and was repaired using duct tape.The hygienist was lovely and nice and the cleaning was fine, which is why I’m giving two stars.

Before becoming a patient at Maple Ridge Family Dental, I had been at the same dental office for over 30 yrs. The last few, have been a tad bit challenging to say the least‼️ So I asked my Denturist Dr Matt McCallum, if he could refer me to a local Dentist, and from that day forward I have him to Thank, for a most excellent choice‼️ I called Maple Ridge immediately after hanging up, to what I thought was going to be, silently hoping not, a long wait to be seen… They fit me in.. The Very Same Day‼️ I was greeted with a big smile, a friendly voice, and A Welcome that made me feel, like I was someone important. As I sat down I looked around, its decor was not only gorgeous, but spotless, not one thing out of place‼️ After filling out the usual new patient information, and handing it in, a young lady came into the waiting room to fetch me, introducing herself as we walked to the room, and she got right to work. A bit and a few, My new Dentist appeared, who also introduced himself. I thought this was only going to be a Meet and Greet, which it was, but.. I also had a filling done that same day‼️ Long Gone are the days of Months and Months of waiting to be seen, just to have to wait again for an appointment to have the work done. For as long as I have my own teeth in my mouth, Maple Ridge Family Dental on Dundas St in London, has Me for the Long Haul‼️ If You’re looking for a Denturist, who pays attention, to not only His patients, but to the tiniest of tiny details.. Look no further, Try calling Dr Matt McCallum, there you will speak with the sweetest lady named Darlene, who will answer any and all of your questions as well your bookings. Dundas street was one of my favourite streets in London for one specific reason, Now, it’s a Favourite for 3.. Dr Matt, Maple Ridge and.. Taco Bell ‼️😉

Excellent team. Very understanding and kind. They work fast and do a great job. Dentist work is expensive but I feel like this dentistry has competitive prices. I've visited 2/3 times and plan on returning in the future for clean ups. My last visit was a filling and I was pretty nervous but they gave me all the information I needed to know. Lucky me it was an early started cavity and nothing serious.

MRD took me in, at the last minute, and gave me excellent care. My usual dentist is closed for the weekend, so I needed to see someone. They didn't try to sell me, to change dentists. They didn't do any procedures that weren't necessary, to pad the bill. Everyone was very nice, kind, and welcoming. If I ever need to change dentists, I know where I would go.

The dental hygienist was friendly, efficient and knew what she was doing, which is very important to me as well as my dentist is the most compassionate, caring man I’ve ever ever met. He took care of a mistake made by the administration staff and how they build me for something they shouldn’t have So I was quite impressed. I was having a very bad day and the fact that they were going to charge me for this which They shouldn’t even have done in the first place, I was going to have to have this go to collections since I’m on disability.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.I took my dependent to the dentist.She was in there for a total of about 11 minutes and had a spacer removed. Quick, easy.I went to the front desk to pay for the service, and I was told there that the total cost was 91 dollars.I told her we have insurance and from a previous visit she looked up the information.She told me they (the insurance) will cover 50% of that and I will be responsible for the rest. So I paid $45.50 & left.This morning I woke up to a claim on my insurance for $248.00 and the fees were from a spacer removal and an apparent “exam”.My problem is they didn’t do an exam because I was in there the whole time and they just wanted to get the max amount from my insurance….I called the office and they are gaslighting me saying they told me about the exam at the front desk. When I remember asking what the total was and she said $91.00.So annoying and frustrating.But I feel like they just scammed us.

Went in for a tooth removal. First time, the dentist couldn’t even get it out and left me to suffer for over two weeks with a shattered tooth in my mouth. Went back for the surgeon. I have severe anxiety and have not had good experiences at the dentist and ended up having a panic attack. Had a few minutes to try to calm down. Managed to, and then the surgeon kept yelling at me and it got to the point I had another one. When I said I would like to reschedule so I could get anesthesia, because it was being sanitized today, he threatened that it would get infected. The surgeon and the dentist from a few weeks prior also kept dismissing any pain I felt. Was screaming and crying through the tooth removal. It was quick, which I appreciate, but it still really hurt. The dental assistant(?) was lovely and she tried to help as best as she could. She was very thorough and explained things for me in perfect detail so I could understand. Also was misgendered almost the entire time, despite it saying on my form what I go by. I’m not coming back after how I was treated and talked to by the surgeon. Also seemed like no one knew what they were doing.

Dr Balsalm is a life saver and she’s so genuine, I don’t recall the name of the assistant in the room with us but she was also magical, (she is Dr Ali’s assistant when he is in town just can’t remember her name) my experience was made to be so much better even though I was going through the motions over the procedures I’ll need for my teeth! Dr Balsalm went ABOVE and BEYOND for me and I’m so incredibly grateful for them both. Would recommend every single time.

Was having some anxiety due to past dentist and was pleasantly surprised with how well they were willing to listen, informed me of all aspects and willing to freeze more if needed due to nerve issues/ sensitivity which allowed me to save money and not have to get put out to get teeth pulled done. Almost killed me in 2019 when I went in for tooth extraction under anaesthetia. I call the morning of saying I have a cold and I'm unsure if I should come in. Receptionist tells me to just pop a cold medicine and come in anyway without consulting anyone. Anesthesiologist ignored all my questions and just kept saying "you will be fine." I'm taken into the back, put under, and immediately aspirated on my own vomit due to the staff not communicating with eachother effectively. They tried to suction it out unsuccessfully, called 911 and I ended up in hospital and later got aspiration pneumonia. Anathesioligist sends a long email blaming it all on me, assuming it must have been because I "ignored the pre-surgery instructions to not eat" which I followed EXACTLY what they told me as I have high anxiety and was already worried something bad would happen.

I honestly don’t know where to start. As I come in to the office I’m always greeted with amazing professionalism. When I sit down with the dentist she always makes sure I’m comfortable as I have bad anxiety issues when it comes to needles. And throughout the entire process they know how to keep the anxiety at ease. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this office if you have issues dealing with needles, they make sure you’re 100% comfortable during the entire procedure. Your compassion towards your patients is awesome. Maple Ridge Dental has a welcoming atmosphere. The ladies at the front counter are always curious, pleasant and friendly. The dentists, when doing a procedure always ask if I am o.k., and I like that, not that I like being tortured, but it makes the experience a little less like that.

I would highly recommend this practice to anyone. The staff are always accommodating and very friendly. We have been a patients here for a number of years back to when it was Dove Dental. I can't imagine going anywhere else unless the practice closed. It was nice to meet a new hygienist today. Sge was very courteous and an asset to the practice.

Ive had nothing but great experiences here. I'm terrified of the dentist, and I've been treated so kindly by every staff member at maple ridge. My whole family has switched to this office, I would highly recommend their services! The staff here are simply lovely!

Been going here for 2 years now and I've NEVER been unsatisfied with my visit. Until today. I had to reschedule my cleaning appointment but when I called I specifically requested that it be with my SAME hygienist. The reception insisted that it was. When I went in for my appointment today I was greeted by a new person. I didn't think anything of it and that I wouldn't be disappointed but I was wrong. Throughout the whole cleaning never once did the hygienist rinse my mouth with water. I was constantly swallowing my own blood and saliva. After my polish and clean she didn't not have the audacity to even ask if I'd like a further rinse, my mouth was so gritty it was disgusting. And to finish it off, what cleaning appointment doesn't finish off with a floss ??? She didn't even give me a flossing. My experience today was the worse I ever had. I went in for a cleaning and came out feeling worse then when I went it. I know it's not everyone I just hope that I don't get booked with the wrong person again. Especially when I stated clearly MY SAME hygienist.Update on the situation, maple ridge called me back as they said they would and offered another cleaning free of charge. Which I really appreciate. Thank you for your great customer service

Ive only ever been to this dentist to get wisdom teeth pulled and I will say Dr.Ali is amazing, I wont let anyone pull the rest of my wisdoms he makes me feel comfortable and i have alot of stress and anxiety when it comes to dental work especially pulling teeth.

Aside from the two dentist that fix my teeth (that are very caring and skilled), my biggest pro for this place is that they allow you to rebook or reschedule anytime all the time if need be. I once called in a few hours before to cancel and they treated me with respect and did it for me right away. I have never been punished or evicted from the dentistry because I couldn't call ahead of time as far back as 48 hours. I told them I have Crohn's disease and my ride also has to reschedule on me as well and they are totally cool with it. I used to attend SANTE DENTAL down Highbury ave. Those guys dropped me after 2 reschedules I had to do cuz it was less than a day in advanced - I had told them before I signed up that I was sick and my flare ups are unpredictable so I may have to call in suddenly rite before the appointment and they acted cool, but clearly..... were not. Don't ever go there. They also over charge and charge you for stuff you don't need just to milk your insurance benefits to the max!. I know this cu my whole family goes there. I've mentioned Maple Ridge to them and my mom is switching soon. Maple Ridge rocks and you should definitely go there.

One and only time I’ll be in there. This is a Mickey Mouse outfit technology wise and the manager is rude and entitled. Be prepared to pay nearly $200 for the initial appoint if you have an x-Ray and all that money is “earned” by then in about 10-15 mins.I told them the problem and what I needed done. They insisted they do this and that and didn’t take the x-ray properly so wanted to do another radiation shot through my head while trying to force the plastic piece into my mouth regardless as too how many times I told them it don’t fit stop showing me with it .i’ve been to many dentist office before and no issue like this

The dentist broke the root canal file off in my gums. She immediately put a temporary filling in and told me I’d have to come back to see a specialist because she was leaving for Baghdad. I done was taken out to the front where I was made another appointment for a Monday because their specialist only works Mondays. Unfortunately, due to other commitments I had to reschedule a few Mondbut Dr. Zeinab Hasan finally did go in three weeks later. Sat in the chair and then was told by the so-called specialist, but I should be going to see a a specialist, not him. After some serious confusion. I was again escorted to the front, where some lady who was very dismissive and frankly, not a nice person informed me that there is no way I would’ve been told that this guy was a specialist, and that he was only going to try and remove the tool. Either way I was referred to a specialist who doesn’t take my benefits. And I would have to pay upfront either way. I was quoted $497. 00 For a consultation fee which I guess included an image as well. And then I was quoted an additional $3067.00 to have the procedure done which would be basically be a tool retrieval and a proper root canal. I reached out to Maple Ridge Family dentistry to ask if they would at least cover half the cost of the procedure as this was in no way my fault at all and me even offering to pay half of the procedure is completely unfair. Either way my request was denied. They are refusing to pay anything but they did offer to extract my tooth. For me I’m not sure if that would’ve been an extra fee or not. So patient be aware of what you’re signing and that they will not on up to their mistakes nor try to rectify them in anyway. Knowledgeable and accomodating staff. Clean and organized office. I had my first dental cleaning with them and Nathalie was the dental hygienist and it was not painful. Definitely our new family dental clinic 🙂

The staff have been very kind and accommodating to my needs.I'd like to give kudos especially to Skylynn for have an amazing attitude and gentle touch. She's been the best dental hygienist I've had the opportunity of experiencing in over 20yrs. It's a shame she changed her place of employment. I will miss her.The others have been very kind and informative as well. Always a pleasure ladies.Would I recommend this office?Sure would. ☺️

I've been using Maple Ridge since it was Dove Dental years back. The staff are very kind and friendly and they are very good with children. My son is 6 and was terrified to go for his first cleaning, but they were amazing and he did great! I Definitely recommend this Dental office! 10 out of 10!!

This place is very unprofessional to say the least. I'm in need of a dentist after not seeing one during Covid. I thought this place would be ideal as they are very close to where I live.My First interaction after they brought me into the back. I waited over 20mins for someone to come back. I thought I was forgotten about. No one updated me there was a delay. My second interaction which was today. Appointment was for 10:20 am and I ended up waiting a full 30mins before I asked what was the delay. When they did cone to get me they sat me in a broken chair with no head rest. Now I'm 6'4" and that chair and it just fits me. I also have back issues so when I was told to slide down in the chair to make up for the head rest that was not there. I My back started to acr up.. so I told them that I can't do that. I asked if there was a reason for putting me a broken chair. Their reply was it was the only one available. Please keeping mind I'm a 52 yr old man with old bones. This place is very incompetent. Lots of questions that don't really makes sense when looking for a new dentist.Please avoid this place.

I figure some pain is inevitable. Having realistic expectations... Is key. However, the doctors and dental assistants, has a very gentle touch. And responded very quickly to discomfort from me, and my guiding them with feedback. I had multiple teeth taken out, and lots of bad experiences with others .. but maple ridge both got me in quickly, for the antibiotic that would eliminate my pain, and the follow up to pull what was causing thatNothing but good things to say here about the office and staff.

I don’t even know what to say. I just switched my dentist to maple ridge and I regret it greatly. When I went in there today for two fillings I had the female dentist who told me if I felt pain at any point to raise my left hand. I had informed her previous to starting that the freezing now and in the past usually takes an extra freeze. She started and I immediately felt the pain so I raised my hand. She ignored me and didn’t even take the tools out of my mouth so I could say what was wrong and continued, I raised my hand again telling her to stop and she says “almost done” and finishes up. I felt completely violated and that my right to say no and stop were completely disregarded. I walked out of that office in a pure panic attack. The receptionist was so nice and said she’d talk to the manager but I will be in contact with the manager about that dentist.

I’ve been going here for the past few years. It’s great cause each visit is covered or doesn’t break your bank. But the facility and staff don’t reflect that. They’re always friendly and helpful. I love their text message about appointments, as I’m a guy that if I don’t see it visually I’ll forget. This way, I just wait for the text to input on my phone and don’t have to busy my brain. The facilities are great and good equipment. I would highly recommend it

I booked a wisdom tooth extraction with Dr.Ali on August 18th. Let me tell you, as someone who has absolutely zero pain tolerance and a healthy fear of surgical procedures (this was my first)...you have absolutely nothing to fear. I was a nervous wreck in the days leading up to the appointment. As soon as I met Dr.Ali I was IMMEDIATELY put at ease. I had my teeth taken out under local anesthesia (freezing) and I felt absolutely nothing other than the feeling of my tooth being pushed down (no pain). I highly recommend you get your procedures done by Dr.Ali if you decide to go to this practice.

I was completely fine with the procedure they were doing. Although I do have high anxiety when going to the dentist. However, I got 3 syringes, one of which went in the roof of my mouth. But I didn’t need the guy in my face repeatedly asking “does the tooth still hurt? Can you feel it? Does it still hurt?” while I’m crying and in VERY clear distress.They refused to work with me cuz I slightly raised my voice to ask for a minute when I was being ask the same question on repeat. (Like I said I was in distress hearing the same thing on repeat. Obviously I’m going to get overwhelmed and raise my voice)I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone tbh. This was a very traumatic experience for me.

Appointments necessary no matter how much pain you're in (contrary to their advertising and website). I called and said that I am in a lot of pain and would simply like to see someone as soon as possible, and they said they only had one appointment slot available a week from now. I have heard of good experiences and it seems like a nice place, but I was disappointed they didn't uphold that policy while still advertising it.

Waited 40 mins past my scheduled time due to over booking the Doctor. The only reason I'm giving a higher review, is because Dr. Al Safi and Dex were wonderful to me. If you're nervous at the dentist, I recommend getting him, as he was making jokes and calming me down the whole time.

I have used this office a few times for various procedures. They keep to their scheduling and I have never had to wait long for an appointment. They're good with applying anesthetic, the procedures are always pain-free. The office is also easy to work with, I had to rebook an appointment the day before and they didn't hassle me over it. I also looked into general pricing for the work I had done, they charge less than what is typical in most locations.

My appointment was scheduled for 2:40 PM; however, I ended up waiting more than an hour. Apparently the front desk staff rescheduled my appointment without notifying me. (*Update: I was told this by my hygienist.) The chairs in the treatment area were old and torn. I did really like my hygienist and the dentist. They made the appointment quite easy.UPDATE: It is June 17, 2022. Following the response from Maple Ridge Dental below, I phoned and left a voicemail requesting a call from the practice manager. She called back and I explained the situation to her. She said that I arrived 10 minutes early, which I did. My appointment was for 2:40 pm and I arrived at 2:30 pm. I did not know if I had any other paperwork to fill out and leaving early for appointments helps my husband (who drove me) be on time. The practice manager said that she came out at that time and told me it would only be a few more minutes and that I was called back 10 minutes later. This is false. In the time that I was waiting, my husband went to a restaurant and washed our minivan before returning to the office where I was still waiting. I had another appointment elsewhere at 4:00 pm and by the time I got back to the treatment area, I had to inform the individual I was to meet that I would be late. I had waited at least an hour by this point. I relayed my disappointment, and the hygienist said that the “front desk” had rescheduled my appointment without notifying me. Now, after leaving the previous review and speaking with the practice manager, an apology would have sufficed; however, both myself and the hygienist were blamed for the matter. I called back to cancel my follow up appointment and explained the situation to the individual on the line. I was once again not given an apology. I was just told, “I will cancel your appointment. Goodbye.” Better business practice would be to apologize for the experience (on the phone today) and acknowledge the mistake. A little humility can go a long way. I obviously do not recommend Maple Ridge Family Dental.

Really enjoy taking my kids to Maple Ridge. All 3 of my children, including my daughter with sensory needs, is exceptionally comfortable with the staff and dental team. I am really grateful that they are enjoying coming to the dentist, and that my children are respected and treated with kindness and patience as they are learning to build a positive dental experience. Even though this dental office is on the other side of the city from me, for the service and the happiness/positivism it is well worth the trip over. If I could say anything I would change, it would be the wait times as sometimes it takes a little time to be seen - which effects my daughter more than my boys. BUT in saying this, every time we have waited the staff have been so apologetic and very accommodating. Things happen, same as at a doctor, but they are so kind it is well worth the wait if their is one.Really enjoy this place!!
